Did you know Fabricated Fittings are not allowed?

High Strength fittings are commonly used in Hot Tap and Line Stop service work on high pressure transmission pipelines. They are used for these pipelines due to forces of the internal pressure.

Tensile yield properties range from 42,000 PSI to 80,000 PSI. These critical applications on high pressure pipelines are high risk projects with zero room for error. A fitting failure in these situations can be catastrophic and do untold damage to life and property.

Industry code for this sector of the industry is ASME B31.8 Industry standard practices for manufacture of this type fitting is MSS SP 75 which addresses the allowable methods of manufacture of fittings, fabricated tees are not an approved method of manufacture. Compliance to this standard is required by nearly all pipeline operators. Any variance from this standard disqualifies the fitting from certification.

Uni-Forge manufactures extruded high strength certified fittings, providing superior strength for high demand applications. To learn more about our extruded fittings, please contact our team below or call +1 346-297-7473 today.
